In addition, Daryl wrote construction outlook articles in the Construction Market Forecasting Service (CMFS), the flagship product developed from the construction forecast, and contributed to the Metropolitan Construction Insight, a quarterly report that analyzes construction trends within the 35 largest metropolitan areas across the U.S. He was also a spokesperson for the Dodge construction outlook, and was a frequent speaker on economic and construction issues for industry groups and company sales/marketing meetings.
Prior to joining Dodge, Daryl was with Reed Business Information for more than 13 years where he was a Senior Economist and later the Director of Cahners Economics. He managed the building and construction, manufacturing, and electronics industry forecasts for that group at various times during his career. In a two-year period prior to joining Reed, Daryl was the Director of Economics and Research at the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
He started his career with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Boston regional office where his responsibilities over nearly 14 years progressed from those of Economist, to Director of Economic Analysis and Research, and finally to the position of Manager of Price Index Programs. In 1973, Daryl earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and continued his education with graduate-level economics courses at both Boston University and Northeastern University.
