TecHome Builder Expo Announces Fiber-to-the-Home Tech Keynote and New Technology Sessions

Additional tech sessions added with focus on helping builders increase profits

Framingham, Mass., April 30, 2007 – TecHome Builder Expo 2007 (TBX), the first event dedicated to the technology needs of the homebuilding industry, to be held in conjunction with the 14th annual Southern Building Show & Conference (SBS), June 20-22, 2007, at the Cobb Galleria, Atlanta, Georgia, today announced the Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) Tech keynote and the addition of new technology sessions to the event. The Tech Keynote, Fiber-to-the-Home = Dollars-to-the-Builder: Cash In On A Red Hot Trend, will be presented by Rick Mildner, Chief Executive Officer of Douglasville Development, LLC, on Thursday, June 21. This high-energy technology keynote will shed light on the next-generation technology known as Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH). Mildner will discuss how to choose partners in implementation, communicate the savings and benefits to customers, and increase the bottom line.

“We are delighted that Rick Mildner will be offering his first-hand experience to builder attendees interested in capitalizing on FTTH,” stated Nicole Derany, TBX Show Director. “Rick is well known for his success in the Fiber-to-the-Home market and can offer great insight to the revenue-producing opportunities that exist in FTTH for builders.”

According to a recent study presented by the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), 1.34 million homes are now connected to the internet via end-to-end fiber, compared to 671,000 connections as of March 2006. The number of homes utilizing FTTH also increased from 4.1 million to 7.9 million homes in just one year.

The tech keynote will be presented as one of seven all-new tech sessions, scheduled for Wednesday, June 20 through Friday, June 22. These educational programs are dedicated to homebuilding and home technology, and will provide the Southern Building Show & Conference attendees with an opportunity to further explore hot topics of interest with their peers and industry experts.

"The TBX tech sessions have been added as a highlight for TBX@SBS 2007 to help builders and remodelers increase profits on their current and upcoming projects,” said Derany. “From hot tech products that consumers are asking for to back-office software and front-line sales solutions that streamline productivity, cut operating costs and increase sales, the tech classes cover a wide range of need-to-know topics. We are thrilled to be providing these sessions as part of the already-strong SBS conference program."

TBX Tech Sessions will include:
