CE Pro Magazine’s State of the Industry Report Reveals the Custom Electronics Industry is Expected to Soar by 15% in 2007
Framingham, MA - January 22, 2007 - CE Pro, the leading magazine in the custom electronics (CE) industry, reveals significant findings regarding the expectations of the CE industry for 2007. The much anticipated sixth annual State of the Industry Special Report is published in the January issue of CE Pro, an EH Publishing publication.
The Research department of EH Publishing conducted the survey among CE professionals. The findings of the survey, which compose the State of the Industry Special Report, boast the residential CE industry will grow an astounding 15% in 2007.
The anticipated growth of the CE industry is a direct result of awareness and increased interest in the products offered by manufacturers. “Rising awareness from consumers, homebuilders, remodelers, real estate agents and others for installation of multiple subsystems, such as flat-panel TVs, home networks, multiroom audio, integrated security, lighting control, structured wiring, integrated gaming applications and whole-house control are driving the demand for this ‘new’ breed of contractor,” says Jason Knott, editor of CE Pro, which reaches 50,000 residential electronic installation companies.
According to the State of the Industry Special Report published by CE Pro, the expected increase of the CE industry comes on the heels of a year in which the standard CE professional experienced 35% growth, resulting in median revenues of $1 million in 2006 compared to $737,900 in 2005. Moreover, the median revenue for a custom installation company has jumped 60% since 2003, when the average integrator garnered approximately $624,000 in income. In the survey, integrators report that they will be concentrating their business on the existing home and commercial markets, which look to thrive in 2007 as new housing slows.
“The future is so bright that it appears the only thing that can possibly limit the industry’s phenomenal growth will continue to be a shortage of qualified integrators,” says Knott.
Full details on this surging business can be found in the January issue of CE Pro, in the magazine’s Annual State of the Industry Special Report.
